The Challenge Begins

Week 1

As some of you know I had an accident last August 23, and it absolutely changed my perspective on life and how I see things. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, I decided to pick up my camera and go back to photography as a result of it. It has changed the way I look at the world now. I just see it differently.

I decided to throw out a Photo Challenge to all of my friends and family and invited them to follow me in my photo journey and post a picture a day, via social media,  with me for a year. These images will be posted in the order they are taken and shared, showing the start of the habit, the practice, and the process of my learning to see more intentionally. I have been pleasantly surprised by how many of you have joined me.

I decided to create a review blog on how I am learning the process. I will be looking at how....and what I will hopefully learn,  some of the research I will do and the frustrations I am sure I will find along the way. I am going to be posting them here so you can see my progress and comment via email if you would like. I sincerely thank you all for following along and participating in my insanity.

Week 1 marks the beginning of my photo challenge and the first step toward building my photography business, Bradley Stills & Motion. With the creation of this "business" I was only hoping to take some cool photos and start a YouTube channel for Bradley Family Farms. The Sony cameras also shoot great video as well, so it naturally led me to the photography side as well and here I am. Who knows what is gonna happen next?

I think my most successful photo from week was the one of my cat Clark. I think the composition of it is simple and honest. For my first time editing I think it turned out ...let's say OK.

My least favorite was the Game board, and I am not really sure why. It probably has to do with the lighting, I need to learn how to use the light setting in my camera. This one is not good. I started out in full flailing mode, and boy did I flail around! Let the research begin.

I would love to get some feedback from you all about the photography learning process, Please feel free to shoot me an email via my contact page.

Thanks for reading!
